- Scarlet Witch and Angel briefly dated in X-Men First Class 7. Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are on leave from the Avengers when this issue is set.
- Doctor Octopus' superhuman abilities derive from the four mentally-controlled, electronically-powered, telescoping, prehensile titanium-steel tentacles attached to a stainless steel harness encircling his body from lower chest to waist.
- The release of Squadron Supreme 8 was delayed due to the ongoing Ultimate Power crossover.
- Wolverine's hands do not have openings for the claws to move through, so they cut through his flesh every time he extrudes them.
- Halle Berry had initially decided not to reprise her role as Storm for X-Men: The Last Stand, citing lack of character development in the previous two installments and a tense relationship with director Bryan Singer. However, after Singer's departure, Berry agreed to return on the condition that her role be expanded. Consequently, in this film Storm serves as leader of the X-Men, which is keeping with the comics since she served as team leader for a time in Xavier's absence.
- Iron Man (Tony Stark) was listed by Forbes.com as #8 on its list of fifteen wealthiest fictional characters, with a net worth of US$3 billion.
- Black Panther (T'Challa) and Storm (Ororo Monroe) became the new members of the Fantastic Four , replacing Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman.
- Ultimate Scarlet Witch seems to be more powerful at a conscious level than her 616 counter-part. This may be due to training since she was raised in a terrorist environment and joined the super-human military afterwards. Unlike her 616 counterpart she can fly, change objects at will, create force fields, and transport any object anywhere she can think of.
- Hyperion (Mark Milton) was created as a Marvel Comics analogue to the DC Comics character Superman although he is more cynical and cruel than his counterpart. The character of Hyperion was created by J. Michael Straczynski and artist Gary Frank, based on the previous version created by Roy Thomas.
- Doctor Doom (Victor Von Doom) first appeared in Fantastic Four #5 in July, 1962
- Jake Gallows, the Punisher of 2099, was inspired by the legends of Frank Castle to vigilantism when his family suffered a similar fate.
- Spider-Man (Peter Parker) revealed his secret identity at a press conference in the Civil War series.
